Team Overview

We are a Jr development Team using cycling and life to create “Rouleur” athletes and people with a developed purpose, passion and personal power.

Definitions:

Rouleur: All-rounders, often the hardest riders in the peloton who excel in all different terrains and conditions

Purpose: The Reason for which something is done or created

Passion: The willingness to suffer for that which we love.

Personal power: The ability to influence others and events through one skills, attitude, mannersisms, habits and character.

With a focus on creating Rouleurs athletes and people, we have found that we love working with riders who have a passion for the sport and are looking for ways to better themselves.  We also love helping people still working to develop that passion for the sport.  To accommodate that passion and their different levels we have created different levels within our program to help riders grow and develop and reach their potential in a way we have found to be successful.  Our National program takes the most time due to extended travel for races and increased training requirements. We also put a lot of focus on our Race and Devo programs to help athletes progress at a pace we feel will best help them, as progression is one of the keys to developing personal power.

With practices beginning in the Spring and many different races throughout the year including the National Pro XCT series, occasional ICUP races, weekly race series events, road and gravel events and maybe even some Leadville race series events, Rouleur Team managment will be very busy all year.  Sometimes all this racing makes it so we are not able to make it back to hold a practice every day March - June.  We really try to have as many practices as possible but please understand that while not perfectly consistent, we really do our very best to help you grow the best we can.  We encourange you to come to the races and we promise if you do, you will grow even more.  We will plan to hold 6 Devo team practices and around 15-20 Race and National team practice sessions and pre rides at each of the team races as a part of the program.  In addition we will have a couple extended weekend camps for Race and National team members. We utilize team snap to communicate to you about the team rides and details.  In addition, we know many of you will be racing NICA with your high school teams this fall.  We will plan to hold a Rouleur practice on this years Utah NICA State championships course to help you prepare for that race once that season rolls around, we hope to see you there too.

We have four membership pathways which encompass all potential team riders. Here are some details of each pathway.

All are invited!  Help us create more Rouleurs!

Option # 2- Rouleur- Devo Team Member:

This Rouleur Devo Team program is designed specifically to help riders who want to get a leg up on the competition before their official season begins with their school teams. It will be held sepatate of our Race and National team practices and will consist of six (3 hr) deicated training sessions held on Tuesday or Thursday evenings mixed throughout the months of April and May. Dates will be determined based on national race schedules and weather so dates are still TBD.

This Devo option is for Racers age 13-18 who have raced at least 1 year previously but want help getting to the next level with their skills and riding.  It is heavily focused on skills with some fitness development thrown in and is meant to help them be more prepared when their school team practices start. Before signing up, All these riders should have the fitness to ride from the Draper Eq. Center to the top of Rush without stopping for breaks and the skills to ride down Rush without putting a foot down.   If you like to ride and sometimes even enjoy racing but want help developing more biking skills this Devo Team program is the one for you.

Option # 3- Rouleur- Race Team Member:

This Rouleur Race Team program is designed specifically to help riders who deelpy love racing bikes and want to race more locally and maybe even try and race some nationally. Our regularly scheduled practices will held on Monday and Wednesday evenings begining in the spring as the trails start to clear and will run until June.  We expect to have 15-20 official practices with dates determined based on national race schedules and weather so dates are still TBD.

This Race team option is for Racers age 13-18 who have raced at least 2-3 years previoulsy but want to race more locally and nationally and want help getting to the next level with their skills and racing.   It is heavily focused on skills and racing development with some fitness development thrown in and is meant to prepare them to race local and National level races and will naturally help them excel in their school based programs as well.  We are looking for racers who want to be on a team with other like minded racers, who love to have fun while out racing bikes. Our focus in this program will be to help you grow and develop so that you have the skills, power, endurance, mental strength and racing IQ to improve at the races most important to you.  Rouleur Race and National Team practicess will generally end in June so riders can begin to attend their local school team practices but we may still have ocasional rides in June and July and especially in conjunction with the races we will attend.

New for 2025 The Race Team riders will also now be invited to attend our Ride or Die St George Team training Camp in January and/or February.  It is called Ride or Die because this is a drop ride team camp meaning if you get dropped, you will need to make your way home on your own. We won’t be stopping to make sure everyone keeps up.  It will also happen before we have any practices or really get to know most of you well so you are gonna need to have some good skills and fitness ready to go to really enjoy this camp.

We will be trying to keep the skill and rider level within a pretty tight ability range for this program to make it more managable for us. Because of that, we will now require that each rider desiring to be on the Race team submit an applicataion. The Race program and National program will still practice together throughout the spring giving you all the regular ride benefits of the national team but without the full commitment of the national team race schedule.

Option # 4- Rouleur- National Team Member:

This Rouleur National Team program is designed specifically to help riders who deelpy love racing bikes and are planning to participate in the full national and even some international scheduled team races. Our regularly scheduled practices will be held with the Race team on Monday and Wednesday evenings begining in the spring as the trails start to clear and will run until June with races lasting all year.  While at Race team practices, National Team riders will ride in a mentorship role with Race team members in addition to their ride.

This national team option is for Racers age 13-22 who have raced at least 2-3 years previoulsy at a local, national or international level.  Once limited to racers with Podium results at national events, this has now expanded to riders who are fully committed to participating in at least 5 of the teams national calendar events and have shown their commitment level in the past.  We are looking for riders who are dedicated to their development and to helping others in their development.  They are willing to work hard, and participate in a team environment.  Riders who work to get along well with others and who want to be friends with their teammates, not competitors with their teammates. We are looking for riders who want to expand their riding experience and are committed to racing at a national level as their top priority.

There will be feed support and limited tech support at each of the national races.  Our National team riders will be expected to represent the team at all times and to ride in Rouleur team kits on all rides throught the season (always) and it will require that they purchase all the official team kits. We will do everything we can to help riders on the national team with bike support but cannot guarantee any of that support and any rider deals will be on a rider by rider basis. Any rider wishing to be on the national team will have to submit an application to be considered. If you have questions about the national team please reach out to Bryson Perry at 949-973-0300 or Summer at 949-973-0335.

Notes:

1- Our National Team riders may have the option to purchase discounted team bikes and equipment through the team but we cannot offer that to everyone and every rider will be treated differently based on availability and using team management discretion.

2- We are limited in our rider capacity at the national level but want to help all riders get there with us.  Riders and their families who have not participated in multiple national races in the past don’t really know yet what they are committing to from a financial and time perspective.  We want riders who don’t yet have that perspective to start as members of our race team and earn a spot on the national team through their participation.  It is less about results and more about commitment and dedication to the program.
